Special Combos Explained (Palworld 1.0)
What a special combo is
A special combo is a fixed parent pair that always produces the same child, regardless of the parents' Breeding Power values. The Palworld 1.0 dataset used by Palspair contains 164 special-combo rows, and the calculator checks them before it ever averages anything.
Verified examples
These pairs were all checked against the 1.0 data: Relaxaurus + Sparkit = Relaxaurus Lux, Mossanda + Grizzbolt = Mossanda Lux, Penking + Bushi = Sibelyx, Jormuntide + Blazehowl = Jormuntide Ignis, Lamball + Cattiva = Daedream, and Lamball + Foxparks = Lifmunk. If you breed one of these pairs, the special child is guaranteed — the average cannot override it.
Gender-dependent combos
One pair changes with gender: female Katress with male Wixen gives Katress Ignis, while male Katress with female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. Every other special combo in the dataset works with either gender, so this is the only pair where you must pick genders in the calculator to get a single answer.
Special-only Pals
Some Pals never appear through the ordinary average at all — they only appear through a special combo, or by breeding two of the same Pal. The Pal Detail view marks these as special only, and the Special Combos tab lists all 164 rows with a search box so you can check whether a Pal you want is one of them.
