Path Finder Guide: Breeding Chains in Up to 5 Steps
What Path Finder does
Path Finder searches the whole breeding graph — every parent pair the calculator knows — for a chain from the Pals you own to the target you want, in up to five breeding steps. It is the tool for targets whose direct parents you do not own yet.
Reading a chain
Each step in a chain is labelled: owned means you already have that Pal, bred earlier means an earlier step in the same chain produces it, and must-be-caught means you need to catch it before that step can happen. Follow the chain from the bottom up: catch what is marked must-be-caught, breed the intermediate steps, and the target comes last.
When Path Finder finds nothing
A target with no chain in five steps usually needs a special combo or a same-species pair first — for example, a special-only Pal that you must catch before you can breed more of it. In that case the Pal Detail view and the Special Combos tab tell you the real route, and Path Finder will work once that first Pal is in your Palbox.
A worked habit
Pick one target at a time, run Path Finder, and breed only the next step in its chain. Breeding five targets at once spreads Cake and farm time thin; one chain at a time gets you to each target faster.
