How to Breed Legendary and Rare Pals

The special-only rule

The rarest Pals in the dataset — Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius, Necromus and others at the top of the Breeding Power list — are marked special only. They never appear through the ordinary Breeding Power average, so no clever combination of common Pals will produce them.

How you actually get them

For a special-only Pal, there are only two routes: a listed special combo that produces it, or breeding two of the same Pal. In practice that means you usually need to catch one first, and then breed it with itself to get more. The Pal Detail view tells you, for each Pal, whether it is special only and which combos involve it.

What not to waste time on

Do not spend Cake on random pairs hoping for a legendary. If the calculator's target view for that Pal shows only its own name as a parent pair, random breeding cannot help — catch one, or complete its special combo, and then breed from there.
