Common Breeding Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them)
Breeding without Cake
No Cake in the farm chest means no egg, no matter how good the pair is. Stock Cake first, then assign the pair — not the other way around.
Hoping for a special-only Pal from random pairs
Special-only Pals never come from the ordinary average. If the target view shows only the Pal itself as a parent, random pairs cannot produce it — catch one or complete its special combo first.
Ignoring gender for Katress + Wixen
This is the one pair where gender matters. Breeding Katress and Wixen without checking genders gives you one of two children, and it may be the one you did not want. Check genders before you spend Cake on this pair.
Breeding the target before its parents
The most common planning mistake is starting with the target. Work backwards: breed the parents first, then the target. The calculator's target view and Path Finder both show you that backwards order.
Trusting invented stats
If a guide promises a pair that guarantees a passive, a stat, or a work suitability, it is guessing — none of those fields are in the breeding dataset. Judge a pair by the species it produces, which is what the calculator actually verifies.
